Well, if this sounds like your current situation you will be glad to know in this tutorial we will cover updating your i Phone 4 or i Phone 3GS to i OS 6 (or any firmware for that matter) while preserving your baseband using the Mac OS X version of Red Sn0w 0.9.15b1.

Note: For a Windows version of this tutorial please click here.

So the only option jailbreakers have is that you have to update your device using i Tunes.

You can follow these simple instructions to update your i OS device to i OS 8: Note: Upgrading your device you will end up losing your jailbreak, and the installed jailbreak tweaks.

I went to update a few apps and I accidentally clicked "update all" on my apps and now almost all of them are updating.

(yes I know they all needed updated but lots of them were just bug fixes i wasn't worried about) Well that was an hour ago and none of them have even updated, it's stuck I guess?

Read through these instructions, power off your i Phone or i Pod Touch if you haven’t already, and then click the Next button.

Once you click the Next button you will need to execute the steps shown on-screen, which are: Step 6) When you successfully enter DFU mode your i Phone will be exploited with Lime Ra1n, and then Red Sn0w will begin restoring it to the i OS 6 firmware without updating your baseband.

You will also need to download the i OS 6 firmware for your i Phone 4 or i Phone 3GS, which can be found in the downloads section.

Wait for i Tunes to open and connect to your device.

Step 2: Click on device button to the left of the i Tunes Store button in the top right corner in i Tunes. If the i OS 8 update is available it will automatically download and update your device to i OS 8.

Just sit tight, and when the process is complete Red Sn0w will let you know the restore was successful.

Your i Phone 4 or i Phone 3GS should now be running the i OS 6 firmware with the same baseband you had on your previous firmware version. If you have any further questions or thoughts please turn your attention to the comments section below.Follow the on-screen instructions to start using the device. If you need help or have any questions, please use the i OS 8 forums.
